MUZYKA UROJONEJ WIOSKI

"We roam between Poland and Scandinavia, playing at barn dance parties, funeral feasts and in the sacred groves. We stop at the taverns standing on the frozen Baltic Sea, creating music for villagers and townspeople alike, to dance to and to ponder over."
Daj Ognia band is based in Krakow, Poland, and their music is most often defined as 'dark folk' or 'alternative folk'. Their artistic creation is set in "a village that never was". Referring to an old myth of the Baltic Sea freezing over winter, they find inspiration in both Polish and Scandinavian musical traditions. With archaic instruments found in these lands, in their theatrical manner, the band interweaves the melodies of melancholic longing and frenetic trance-like dances. Daj Ognia's original compositions bring back the fiery raves of bygone days.
